Our Story

Rising Tides Nosara was inspired by a deep connection to the ocean, the community, and the transformative power of surfing.

 

While spending time in Nosara, I experienced firsthand how powerful the ocean can be- how it brings you into the present and creates a sense of connection that's hard to find elsewhere. Watching my own children experience surf lessons and the ocean with confidence and excitement made that impact even more clear.

At the same time, I began to notice a gap. While the ocean is central to life in Nosara, access to it through lessons, equipment, and structured guidance is not always equal for local youth. 

​

Through conversations with local surfers and community members, I also learned how important ocean education, environmental awareness, and mentorship are in creating future opportunities. 

​

Rising Tides Nosara was created to help bridge the gap- providing local youth access to surfing, life skills, and mentorship in a way that builds confidence, and creates opportunity within their own community.

​

Because sometimes, all it takes is access, guidance, and belief to change the direction of a young person's life.
